Prompt: Both poems by Robert Frost explore the passage of time and life’s changing moments. Write about a time when something in your life changed more quickly than you expected. How does this experience connect to Frost’s idea that “Nothing gold can stay”?

Prompt Response: A time when something in my life changed more quickly than I expected was when I started high school. It was an entirely different scene than middle school. Earlier date times, harder work, tests more frequently, environment, etc. It was confusing and a little scary at first, but after the first few months I got used to it. This experience connects to Frost's idea that "Nothing gold can stay" because of the new environment from transitioning from middle school to high school.

Summary: I learned the theme for "Nothing Gold Can Stay"

Reflection: We worked on the worksheet for "The Road Not Taken"

Prompt: After watching the short film Identity, write a blog post reflecting on how the masks in the film represent the pressure to fit in and the struggle to discover who you really are. Choose one moment from the film that stood out to you and explain why. Then, connect the film’s message to Langston Hughes’ poem “I, Too” and to the mask you are creating in class. What part of your identity do you want your mask to reveal?
