Prompt: In “Birches,” Robert Frost celebrates imagination as a way to escape life’s difficulties and reconnect with innocence. The speaker wishes to “get away from earth awhile” but also understands that he must eventually return to reality. Think about the role of imagination in your own life. How does imagination help you cope with challenges, boredom, or stress?

Prompt Response: Imagination helps me cope with challenges, boredom, or stress. My main thing is listening and playing music. It keeps my mind in a calm state where I don't feel like i'm on Earth. As used in class I felt like I was in heaven. Reading books also keep my mind at a good focus and helps me cope with stress. This is how Imagination helps me cope with challenges, boredom, or stress.

Summary: We read Birches by Robert Frost today.

Reflection: I learned the theme of Birches by Robert Frost.
