Prompt: Write about the best gift you have received.

Prompt Response: The best gift I have received was two years ago on Christmas day. I was 15 years old continuing my guitar journey and looking for a new guitar to expand my tone. I really wanted a Les Paul with P90 pickups. It had that sweet warm tone that could get really clean while playing lightly then get harsh when playing harder. It felt like a Christmas Story moment, when my Dad had it behind the Christmas tree. I opened it up realizing it was the exact one I tried out at the shop a few weeks back. It was the same description I explained early but it had a gold top finish with a rosewood fret-board. It is one of the most beautiful guitars I've played and is still one of my main guitars to this day.

Summary: Today we worked on the Unpopular Opinion assignment.

Reflection: I learned about formal and informal language today.

Prompt: After watching the short film Identity, write a blog post reflecting on how the masks in the film represent the pressure to fit in and the struggle to discover who you really are. Choose one moment from the film that stood out to you and explain why. Then, connect the film’s message to Langston Hughes’ poem “I, Too” and to the mask you are creating in class. What part of your identity do you want your mask to reveal?
