Prompt: Reflect on a time when you paused to appreciate the beauty of nature, much like the speaker in “Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening.” Where were you, what did you notice, and how did that moment of stillness make you feel or change your perspective?

Prompt Response: A time when I paused to appreciate the beauty of nature is when I go camping. One year I went on a beautiful camping trip. We were surrounded by mountains and trees as far as I could see. I was fishing in a river and just noticed how peaceful It was. No responsibility, worries, etc. I learned to live in the moment and not to stress all the time about the future.

Summary: I learned about the theme of Stopping By Woods On A Snowy Evening.

Reflection: We worked on our one pager for the poems we were given.

Prompt: After watching the short film Identity, write a blog post reflecting on how the masks in the film represent the pressure to fit in and the struggle to discover who you really are. Choose one moment from the film that stood out to you and explain why. Then, connect the film’s message to Langston Hughes’ poem “I, Too” and to the mask you are creating in class. What part of your identity do you want your mask to reveal?
